I’m planning on attending a workshop in February called “For the Love” and I’m really excited about this awesome opportunity. They are having a contest to give away a free registration for this 4 day, 5 night workshop. I don’t even remember how I stumbled upon it, but I think it was through a post Erik Clausen made announcing this workshop. From the moment I read I about it I got all excited about it! I was planning on attending WPPI this year, but after looking at this workshop, my plans changed.

As some of you know, I am the wife a youth minister and I work full time at Prestonwood Baptist Church as a graphic designer and photographer. My husband bought me a 30D to give me a hobby to play with and God opened up the opportunity to start a business through some senior sessions and a handful of weddings. I started my business about a year and a half ago just as a way to make some extra money to help my husband and I make it through his time in seminary. I booked 28 weddings in my first year and so I thought I might have a shot to make something of all this.icon smile For The Love Workshop: Sign me up!

My business has been such an amazing blessing and adventure for me and things have really taken off quickly. I love my clients. I love celebrating their commitment to one another in marriage. I love being creative, working hard, setting goals, and dreaming big. My parents are also self-employed, business owners and so that’s definitely been a big influence on me. I have been blessed to meet some amazing people in this industry and excited to call them great friends. But I’ve been going about million miles a minute these past couple of months and when I saw this workshop, I knew it would be a great way to invest in myself for my spiritual renewal, for my growth in my photography skills and to dream big for my business and make plans for the future. I am looking forward to a retreat—to get away and experience the Lord in a fresh way. I haven’t had a spiritual retreat since I spent a summer in Spain working for a mission organization and that was back in 2004. There are so many things I want to learn, so many ways I want to expand my business and to integrate that with a time of renewal of my Christian walk just sounds awesome.

So I can’t wait for February to come and I can’t wait for you guys to see my photography skills kicked up a notch.icon smile For The Love Workshop: Sign me up!

Gina Smith - Isn’t it funny how God opens up doors for us that are out of the blue? He loves to surprise you and show you the talent He gave you! I love that verse too, what a great addition to that beautiful picture!

I am so EXCITED for you and it makes me so happy that you are going to get to renew yourself through this experience. I love that your business has grown so much so quickly and I know that is exciting but I’m glad that you’re getting a chance to slow down for a moment and put your focus on God.
