Sarah + Michael: Wedding {Part 2}

Welcome back to the party! I LOVED the reception decor at the Westin Stonebriar Resort and Hotel in Frisco for Sarah and Michael’s Wedding. They used a lot of black and white with hot pink accents. The cake totally sets the stage for the rest of the room’s decor. LOVE IT!

{Warning: lots of detail shots because that’s one of the major things second shooters get to do. I loved it! Just imagine that there are more than what I’m showing…}foster_50pintopinterestfoster_53pintopinterestThese were handwritten name cards. Wow the detail!foster_56pintopinterestfoster_52pintopinterestfoster_51pintopinterestfoster_54pintopinterestfoster_55pintopinterestThe grand entrance! One of the groomsmen introduced each bridal party member like a sportscaster would introduce the game’s lineup. It was very energetic and exciting!foster_49pintopinterestFirst Dance! LOVE it!foster_47pintopinterestfoster_46pintopinterestfoster_45pintopinterestfoster_44pintopinterestAnd the party begins!! They seriously partied hard for like 4 hours. I loved all of it! Inside Out played amazing music and kept the crowd entertained. foster_40pintopinterestfoster_41pintopinterestfoster_39pintopinterestfoster_38pintopinterestfoster_37pintopinterestfoster_35pintopinterestfoster_26pintopinterestAfter the closing song, “Sweet Caroline,” Sarah bodysurfed off of the dance floor. It was hilarious! I haven’t seen anything like that before, but she sure loved it!foster_34pintopinterestfoster_33pintopinterestAnd they had a fabulous sparkler exit out of the ballroom. foster_32pintopinterestfoster_31pintopinterestfoster_30pintopinterest

  • ok, I have a question… how do you get “smokeless” sparklers in a photo. The last wedding I shot I could not figure out a way to get ride of the smoke from the sparklers, in camera or out.

    During the dance, did you use a flash, or was that all with natural light? What lens did you use for those? What settings? Your work is AWESOME!!!

  • Hey Michael,
    I used a flash and bounced it back behind me – it allows for more of the ambient light to be seen. I used my 70-200 2.8 for the close up and my 50mm 1.4 (my fave) for the wider shot.
