Karen: Bridal Portraits

One of my bestest and dearst friend’s is getting married today!!! I’m just so excited for her and Ben!

Karen and I have known each other since ninth grade when we began singing songs from “My Fair Lady” at Mission Arlington while sorting clothes—and the rest, I guess, is history. She’s been such an incredible friend to me all of these years and she chose to have me be one of her bridesmaids! I’m really excited, but that means I don’t get to be her wedding photographer. We did some bridal’s together while I was teaching a mentoring session to a super-sweet, college girl named Heather who’s starting her own photography business (more on that in another post). So Karen was our fabulous model. She is one of the easiest people in the world to photograph because she just “works it!” She know her angles and knows how to hit different poses, etc. So I honestly cannot claim all of these poses on my own—a lot of them are just Karen’s dramatic, expressions.

We photographed Karen’s bridal portraits at the fabulous SMU campus and at Perkin’s Chapel. Heather wanted to photograph somewhere with great architecture, so it was a simple decision. karen_3karen_5karen_1karen_7karen_4karen_2karen_6karen_19karen_9karen_10karen_11karen_12This is my favorite photo from the day because it’s just natural Karen. She’s so graceful and sweet. I just love how her veil wraps around her and gives the photo a very soft feeling. karen_13karen_14karen_18karen_15karen_17 This is my second favorite photo of the day because I just LOVE the great contrast in the BW and the use of light. LOVE IT!
karen_16Karen, I’m just so very excited for you and Ben as you finally get to state your vows today. I’m happy to stand by your side and celebrate this fabulous moment with you two. You are a stunning bride, an amazing friend and I have no doubt that you will be a fantastic wife to Ben. I’m glad to know that we’ll always be great phone friends no matter where God takes us. Thanks for being such a fabulous friend in my life.
