Shootout: Photographers Portrait Session

Meet two of my fabulous photographer friends: Amy Karp and Abby Wood.

First up is Amy. We only met a couple of weeks ago, but I found her information through a photography forum and I was looking for potential second shooters — I liked her style and contacted her. We totally had a fabulous little coffee meeting and I met her adorable son Sam (he’s like 6 months old and has the cutest blue eyes ever!!) Anyways, she was wanting new headshots for her website and so we scheduled a photographer’s shootout. I invited my dear friend Abby along too and we had a great time, but it was a CrAzY windy day and we knew what it must feel like for our clients when it’s windy and you’re not too sure of what you’re doing, etc. So clients, I totally hear you when you’re asking things like, “is my hair OK?,” “how are my hands?,” “does this look OK?” because we were asking the same questions.

Amy also just got a fabulous new hair cut and I love it!

aaa_blog4Amy is a long time photographer and she brought along her many cameras from throughout the years for her props. She loved it because she felt like Rambo with her arsenal of gear. aaa_blog3aaa_blog5aaa_blog8aaa_blog6aaa_blog10Here’s some of what it looks like during out shoots. So this was the set up. aaa_blog9This was my result. Love my little random circle building… if you haven’t noticed, I totally love shooting in downtown Prosper. So the girls humored me by letting us go there for our shoot. aaa_blog13Look at that smokin’ mom! WOW!! Abby is super beautiful and I love her growing baby bump. She’s due in July. 🙂aaa_blog2“This one’s for the baby” as Abby says. aaa_blog11aaa_blog1aaa_blog12aaa_blog14aaa_blog15aaa_blog16aaa_blog18Here are the photos the girls took of me. Some days I feel fabulous and that I can totally rock a photoshoot, but that day wasn’t one of them… the wind was crazy and I just felt a bit crazy going from shooting to posing. So let’s just say, I feel way more comfortable behind the camera, which is definitely the way God made me to be. 🙂 But enjoy the photos! The girls did a fantastic job and I really did have fun. I just need to work on my posing skills.

And for any photographers, I love to meet other photographers, hang out, talk shop and enjoy coffee. 🙂 So shoot me a “hello” e-mail and I’d love to visit with you or just e-mail with you. Thanks for stopping by.
